Ashok Shankarrao Chavan is an Indian politician from Maharashtra, he is one of the most influential leaders of the Indian Parliament of Maharashtra and he is the current Minister for Disabled People of Maharashtra. He was also Prime Minister of the State of Maharashtra from December 8, 2008 to November 9, 2010. Previously, he was also Minister of Culture, Industry, Mines and Protocol in the government of Vilasrao Deshmukh. On November 9, 2010, the Congress Party ordered him to resign over corruption allegations related to the Adarsh Housing Society scam. In the 2014 general election, despite accusations and waves of opposition to incumbents, he won Lok Sabha's election in his Nanded constituency at a favorable rate.
