Kurt Thomas Travis is an American singer, songwriter and musician from Sacramento, California. He is currently a member of the US post-heavy groups Royal Coda and Push Over and was previously the lead vocalist of the dance rock groups Gavin Dance and A Lot Like Birds. Travis started his music career in 2001. He joined the hardcore post-production group Five Minute Ride, which released extended tracks, Bathroom Walls ... Lipstick Secret in 2003, and The World Needs Convincing of All That It's Missing, on Rise Records, in 2005 before releasing dissolve later that year. Travis then formed the folk group There & Back Again in 2006. Following these two groups, Travis participated in the formation of the group No Not Constant in July 2007, then dissolved the same year. In 2008, Travis became the singer of the rock group O! Joy, release a studio album, Zen Mode. Following his underground success, Travis replaced Jonny Craig as lead singer of dance rock group Gavin Dance.
Singer most known for his time as the clean vocalist for Dance Gavin Dance, a post-hardcore band with whom he sang from 2007 until 2010. Before releasing his debut solo album, Everything is Beautiful, in 2014, he joined the band A Lot Like Birds.
