Jenji Kohan is an American television writer and producer. She is the creator of the comedy-drama series Weeds and Orange Is the New Black.
Jenji was born in Los Angeles, California, to Rhea (Arnold) and Alan W. “Buz” Kohan, who were both from New York City. They are pictured here and here. Jenji is married to writer and journalist Christopher Noxon, with whom she has three children. Christopher is a convert to Judaism. His sister is screenwriter and television producer Marti Noxon.
Jenji’s paternal grandfather was named Charles Kohan. Charles was born in Romania.
